Cockades were pins made from briar lilies. They were sold from tally-huts run by tally-hens. There were bought and worn by free visitors to the Great Shryke Slave Market during the First Age of Flight. Over the course of three days, the cockades would wilt and rot away to nothing. If found without a white cockade in the market, visitors could be taken captive by the shrykes or merchants and sold as slaves. They were also used in the betting that took place at the Wig-Wig Arena.[1][2]
