Fromps were creatures native to the Deepwoods. They had a striped, prehensile tail, curving claws, a long proboscis, and rabbitlike ears^{[citation needed]}. Mentioned sub-varities were great tree fromps. When alarmed, fromps emitted a loud, spluttered cough. ^{[citation needed]}

Fromps were sometimes pitted against each other in ferocious (and illegal) fights, on which wagers were placed. Arboretum Sicklebough lost a lot of money in Fromp Fights on the Eastern Viaduct Steps of Sanctaphrax.
