I know I mentioned this to DDB last week, but just to let you know I am really busy with exams at the moment, so I will probably be at very few chat sessions up to the start of June now, and although I will try to keep up with the wiki, don't be surprised if I edit less than I used too. :( I will try to do lots of editing after my exams though and maybe we could run another comp then...
I think I saw a mistake on the Slaughterers page. Isn't Rook 1/8 Slaughterer as his mum's half slaughterer and his dad's half slaughterer? Or is he 1/4 slaughterer? Or is it correct saying he's half slaughterer?
I was wondering if you or Martingloamg would be able to import the stuff necessary for a family tree template. I can manage the creation of the family tree itself, but it also requires a couple of other templates to be imported before it works. I thought it would be a good idea to ask you because you probably know how to do this, whereas I would end up doing something wrong.
I mean this family tree template. I've found quite a few on the Harry Potter Wiki, and I also checked the Star Wars wiki and found some there. Here's an example of one. Apparently these are start and end templates needed, but I'm not really sure how any of this stuff works. If you can help, that would be great! :)
I have been sent this message from a potentional person
I had two questions about the Edge Chronicles contest. Can I write a short story about Rook, for example, or does the main character have to be someone less important? Does it have to 100% conform to canon?
I'm pretty sure Rook wouldn't be allowed, however he has since sent me his entry... What shall I say? I don't want just to dismiss his entry after they have put all this work into it(plus, I'm suprised we even got an entry), but yet again it doesn't really fit the brief.
So we had the idea of making a discord server for the Edge Chronicles. It's here https://discord.gg/6kTh3PG
The advantages are: You don't need an account to participate.
The chat is not deleted, so anyone can go back and read it, or write something in there when everyone else is offline. Also, you can properly post images and stuff.
We could gradually move the chat there I guess. Let me hear what you think and contact DeadlyDirtBlock about any details.
Ok- I've set up an account. Will we move onto this next week or will we take a bit longer. It looks quite good I think- especially the fact it is saved. Are we going to make DDB/ Strange Traveller admins or not?
1)I don't know. It depends on if people like it or not and how fast they switch over to discord I guess. We might also get some people who don't edit on the wiki there.
2)DDB is an admin there because they know how to set the stuff up
3)Do you see anything in the widgwt on the main page apart from the weird entangled blue dots moving around?
I made a mistake in setting it up. It's now no longer on the main page, but on almost all pages of the wiki in the sidebar. It takes a few seconds to load, but I hope that's no problem (Otherwise you'll have to disable it in your local css). The 'connect' button is a direct link to the discord and everyone who's online will show up. I also put a link that won't expire on the main page.
So I put one in the sidebars because the one on the mainpage never worked. I gave up, but you can try your luck, that's why I put the explanations there. I put one on the main page now, and for me, it only shows two blue dots loading endlessly.
If you can't solve it it's no problem either, I think the discord boxes we have now that appear in the sidebar on every page (except the main page) will also do, also because there is a link somewhere on the main page to the discord.
I went to comment on your Proverbs blog post with some more proverbs and it says "You cannot add a comment to this article." I'm not sure why it did that, and I decided to write these two proverbs here:
"Crazier than a square circle"- Said by a mobgnome about that academic with the piebald rat conspiracy theory in The Curse of the Gloamglozer. Means "very crazy"
"Quicker than the Chorus of the Dead at a funeral"- Said by the Professor of Light to describe how quickly the academics will turn on Hax if the Great Storm doesn't come in The Winter Knights. Means "very quickly"
I don't know why that happened, maybe just a technical glitch.
I made them into a table now and I guess if I have the time to order them alphabetically/chronologically we can make an article of them.
I'm also unable to comment on the blog. I just noticed "Skyspeed be with you". It's mentioned in Winter, Curse and Last. It's the Edge equivalent of "godspeed", meaning that you wish someone to have a safe journey.
I had noticed in the Recent Wiki Activity log that you hadn't edited for a while... but I had hoped that somehow you would be able to get in a small edit just before the timer ran out. That's too bad what happened. :(
81 days is a very good number of days edited in a row. Currently I am only at 47. The last one I missed was when I was sick on Christmas Eve. I don't see anything in the next 13 or 53 days that should stop me from editing every day, but you never know what might happen with school or life in general to get in my way.
It took me a moment to realize what was edited about this picture... but now that I do realize it I love it. This is certainly going on my user page alongside the Woodfish/Goom hide and seek picture. :)
DeadlyDirtBlock, you give me hope that Gloamglozer and her tree uprising can be stopped. All is not yet lost! Long live the Anti-Tree alliance! We will make sure that our glade-eaters have protection for the drivers!
